DriveForge Support
Email support@bytehavenstudios.com. Tell us your phone model, the drive or card reader you used, and what DriveForge showed. A screenshot helps.
My drive doesn't show up
- Use an OTG adapter or cable. A phone's USB port normally acts as a device, not as a host. An ordinary cable won't work: the adapter is what lets the phone power the drive and talk to it.
- Accept Android's USB permission prompt when it appears. Android asks once for each device.
- Some phones need OTG turned on in their own Settings before a drive appears.
- Going through a hub? If the hub shows up but the drive doesn't, the phone may not be supplying enough power. A hub with its own power supply usually fixes that.
- "USB OTG not supported" means the phone doesn't offer USB host support. No app can change that.
The drive says it is read-only
DriveForge won't write to a drive that reports itself as read-only. Check the lock switch on the side of an SD card, then the switch on its adapter. If neither is set, the drive may have locked itself read-only, which flash memory usually does near the end of its life. Copy your files off: no app can undo it.
FAT32 and large drives
FAT32 up to 32 GB is free. For a larger drive, exFAT is free and works with most phones, cameras and computers. FAT32 larger than 32 GB, and NTFS, are part of Pro.
Testing for fake capacity
There is no reliable read-only way to spot a fake drive, so the test has to write across the whole drive, and that erases it. Copy your files off first. DriveForge names the drive and asks you to confirm before it starts. The read speed test, and the read and write speed test, leave your files where they are.
Useful settings
- Open when a drive is plugged in: Android offers DriveForge when you connect a USB drive or card reader.
- Clear run history: removes every past run from this phone. Your drives are not touched.
Purchases
Pro is a one-time unlock, bought through Google Play. To restore it on a new phone, use the same Google account and tap Restore purchase on the Pro screen. Refunds are handled by Google Play.
